Aadhaar Card
The Aadhaar card is a 12 digit individual identification number.This is India’s version of the American social security card or Canada’s social security number.
Aadhaar identification numbers are issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on behalf of the Government of India. An Aadhaar card can serve as a proof of identity and address proof all over India. It will also help linking to other government subsidies and schemes.
Who can apply?
Individuals of any age or gender who are residents of India and satisfies the verification process laid down by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) can apply for Aadhaar card.How to apply?
There are authorized Aadhaar enrollment centers all across India. Locate the center close to your home. When you go to the enrollment center, carry your identity and address proofs to apply.
1.Go to the nearest enrollment center and fill the application form and provide the required documents (list below).
2.Your details from the Application form are then entered into the system data base.
3.Your finger prints are taken, a digital photograph and Iris capture done.
4.After your documents have been verified, an Aadhaar number is issued. The Time frame in which your is supposed to be about The time frame taken for you to receive your Aaadhar Card can be between 60 - 90 days from the date you complete the above formalities, however expect to wait three plus months.
How can I Check Status of my Aadhaar Card?
You will need your enrollment number, date and time provided by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) at the time of registration to check the status of your Aadhaar card online. Both date and time fields are required. Date should to be entered in following format: dd/mm/yyyy (dd=day, mm=month, yyyy=year)
Time should to be entered in following format: hh:mm:ss (hh=hour, mm=minutes, ss=seconds)
